Dept. of Justice: AG Schimel hails court decision upholding Wisconsin’s Right

Madison, Wisconsin – Today, the Wisconsin Court of Appeals District III upheld Wisconsin’s Right-to-Work law in International Association of Machinists v. Wisconsin, reversing the lower court’s judgment.

Attorney General Brad Schimel hailed the decision and the work of the legal team at the Wisconsin Department of Justice.

“The state has long argued Right-to-Work’s constitutionality and today, we were vindicated when the Appeals Court upheld the law and reversed the lower court’s ruling. This is another successful result by the Wisconsin Solicitor General’s Office, which has played a critical role in upholding the rule of law and advancing the interests of the State of Wisconsin in the highest courts of the land. We appreciate the legislature’s and Governor’s support of this crucial unit within the Wisconsin Department of Justice.”

Earlier this year, the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit upheld Wisconsin’s Right-to-Work law in a different lawsuit.
