Statement from Tommy G. Thompson regarding the passing of Ed Garvey:
“Having learned of the passing of Ed Garvey, my thoughts and prayers are with his wife Betty and his daughters Pam, Kathleen and Lizzy. Ed was a fighter, an unrelenting Progressive and Democrat, and a tireless champion of the “little guy.” Ed and I had our share of disagreements over the years, including those on the campaign trail for Governor of Wisconsin in 1998, but we shared both a love for our great state and a mutual respect. Today Wisconsin lost a fighter in Ed Garvey, his enthusiasm and passion has helped create future generations ready to lead the charge, and that perhaps is his greatest and lasting legacy.”
