Madison – Governor Scott Walker appointed Attorney Robert S. Repischak today to serve as a judge on the Racine County Circuit Court, replacing retiring Judge Allan B. Torhorst.
“I am pleased to appoint Robert Repischak as a Racine County judge,” said Governor Walker. “He has demonstrated not only a long history of service to the Racine County community but also a strong dedication to the fundamental Constitutional principles that will serve him well on the bench.”
Repischak has been an Assistant District Attorney at the Racine County District Attorney’s Office since 1998. Repischak has also served as a municipal attorney in both the Town of Norway since 1999 and in the Town of Dover since 2015. Prior to his current work, Repischak had a private practice in Waterford, Wisconsin, representing individuals, small businesses, and municipalities from 1992 until 1998.
Racine County Circuit Court Judge Mark Nielsen wrote in support of Repischak, “Bob Repischak is among the best of an able generation of criminal prosecutors who have represented the people of Racine over the last two decades.” Judge Nielsen added, “Repischak has the experience to handle the many demands upon a judge combined with that good-humored pragmatism necessary to solve complex problems.”
Wisconsin State Senator Van Wanggaard highly recommends Repischak, stating, “Since I first met him, Mr. Repischak does his homework and gains a full understanding of not just the case, but also the applicable law…this type of work ethic and attitude towards the law is critical in our judges, and our judicial system.”
Waterford Police Department Chief of Police Thomas Ditscheit also recommends the appointment of Repischak to the bench. “Mr. Repischak has been the go-to attorney for all police officers in this department. His advice has been well considered and sound.”
Repischak received his Juris Doctor degree from Hamline University School of Law and his undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point. He resides in Waterford with his wife and their two daughters.
