Wisconn Valley Special Session bill creates new project position at DOA focusing on economic development |
MADISON – Governor Scott Walker today announced Matt Moroney will serve as the strategic economic initiatives director at the Department of Administration (DOA). Moroney currently serves as Governor Walker’s deputy chief of staff for operations. The Wisconn Valley Special Session bill created a new project position at DOA focusing on economic development in coordination with the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation.
“Matt is a vital member of our team, and his business and executive management experience will strengthen our state’s economic development efforts,” Governor Walker said. “He will be missed in our office, but I know he will continue to serve Wisconsin well in his new role.” Prior to his time as Governor Walker’s deputy chief of staff for operations, Moroney served as deputy secretary at the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources and as executive director of the Metropolitan Builders Association of Greater Milwaukee. He received his bachelor’s degree from Loras College and his Juris Doctor from the University of Iowa. “This is a tremendous opportunity to help bring more family-supporting jobs and economic development to Wisconsin,” Matt Moroney said. “I am honored to continue serving our state and I look forward to the work ahead.” Moroney will transition from the Governor’s Office to DOA over the coming weeks. |
