Madison, Wisconsin – Governor Scott Walker announced today that he is seeking applicants for appointment as sheriff in Sawyer County.

The appointment will fill the vacancy created by the resignation of Sheriff Mark Kelsey. The new sheriff will begin serving September 3rd and will complete a term ending January 7, 2019.

An applicant is not required to reside in Sawyer County at the time the appointment becomes effective.
