Madison – Governor Scott Walker released the following statement today wishing Wisconsin mothers a very happy Mother’s Day:

Every day, but especially today on Mother’s Day, we thank Wisconsin moms for their unwavering support, generosity, and belief that their children can do anything they set their minds to.

It is through the unconditional love of our mothers that we learn how to love and through their compassion that we’re inspired to make the world a better place.

The superheroes we call “Mom” selflessly put our needs and well-being before their own and work tirelessly to ensure our futures are bright. I’m grateful my mother pushed me to pursue my dreams and I’m lucky to be married to Tonette, who does the same with our sons, Matt and Alex.

Today, I encourage you to give the incredible mom in your life the love and gratitude she deserves. All moms – biological, foster, and adoptive – help shape Wisconsin’s children and communities and make our state a great place to live and raise a family.

We celebrate Wisconsin moms and wish them a very Happy Mother’s Day.

Governor Walker issued a proclamation declaring today as Mother’s Day throughout the state. A copy of his proclamation is attached.
