JANESVILLE, WI – The Janesville League of Women Voters’ Diversity Committee will host three dates in November for discussion of the book In the Country We Love: My Family Divided by Diane Guerrero.

Guerrero, the television actress from Orange is the New Black and Jane the Virgin, was just fourteen years old on the day her parents were detained and deported while she was at school. Since she was born in the U.S. she was able to remain in the country and continue her education, but she had to depend on the kindness of family friends to take her in and help her build a life for herself.

In the Country We Love shares the fears and resilience that shape the daily existence of families of the undocumented. Join us for a discussion of the memoir and the issues it raises about the experiences of the undocumented and their impact on this country we all love.
