JFC approves Tourism earmarks

The committee approved GOP earmarks through the Department of Tourism that include that include $7,500 for the city of Pittsville to put up a sign marking the geographic center of Wisconsin.
The earmark would come from the Department of Tourism’s $1.8 million annual appropriation for marketing.
The committee also approved $75,000 through Tourism to help the Westby Snowflake Ski Club improve structures at its private facility that holds an international ski jumping competition each winter. The money would go to Vernon County to then pass onto the club if it comes up with the matching money.
