Groups begin push on forestry tax; co-chairs say fate still up in the air

The co-chairs of the Joint Finance Committee say their caucuses are debating whether to sign off on the guv’s push to eliminate the forestry property tax.
Meanwhile, the Wisconsin Realtors Association has launched a paid broadcast and mail campaign pushing GOP lawmakers to back the proposal, and the conservative Americans for Prosperity is poised to start a digital campaign doing the same.
Gov. Scott Walker also continues to press lawmakers on the issue, tweeting “Now is not the time to go backwards. I call upon the legislature to continue to move WI forward & keep lowering property taxes!...
