More than 600 Public Endorsers Including Madison Teachers, Inc. Also Support Karofsky

Dane County Clerk Scott McDonell has publicly endorsed Jill Karofsky for Dane County Judge. The non-partisan election will be April 4, 2017.

As Dane County Clerk, McDonell has been a leader in protecting voting rights, civil liberties, and marriage equality. He was the first County Clerk to issue a same-sex marriage license in Wisconsin. McDonell is a former chair of the Dane County Board, where he was a strong, effective proponent of criminal justice reform in Dane County.

“Attorney Karofsky is a progressive, whose effective work on behalf of women, children, families, and communities of color has shown her dedication to making sure everyone is treated fairly under the law,” McDonell said.

Attorney Karofsky has earned the public endorsement of more than 600 attorneys, elected officials, labor stalwarts including Madison Teachers, Inc., and community leaders. In addition to McDonell the list includes Sheriff Dave Mahoney, District Attorney Ismael Ozanne, Former Dane County Executive Kathleen Falk, and over 40 judges, 23 of whom are current and former Dane County judges. Attorney Jill Karofsky is a life-long resident of Dane County with 25 years of experience handling sensitive and high profile cases, interacting with defendants and victims of crime, both juvenile and adult. She has extensive legal experience in criminal, juvenile, and civil law. She has handled more than 10,000 cases, the exact kind this Judge will hear. Attorney Karofsky began her career in the Dane County District Attorney’s office where she served the people of Dane County under four District Attorneys from both political parties.
