MADISON – Today, former federal prosecutor Josh Kaul registered with the Wisconsin Elections Commission to challenge Attorney General Brad Schimel in 2018.
“We deserve an attorney general who is focused on protecting Wisconsin families, not on partisan politics,” Kaul said. “We haven’t had that kind of leadership under our current attorney general, and that needs to change.”
As a federal prosecutor in Baltimore, one of America’s most violent cities, Kaul prosecuted murderers, gang members, and drug traffickers, taking dangerous criminals off the street and making communities more secure. That kind of experience is needed to bring real leadership back to the Department of Justice.
Kaul grew up in Oshkosh and Fond du Lac in a family of law enforcement professionals and teachers. Kaul and his wife, Lindsey, are the parents of two young boys: Simon (3) and Henry (3 months).
