La Crosse, WI – In a letter to the editor in the La Crosse Tribune Tomah VA Whistleblower Ryan Honl praised Ron Kind for his work to fix the problems seen at the Tomah VA and announced his endorsement. Read the full letter below:
Ryan Honl: Kind did right thing for whistleblowers
I would like to thank Congressman Ron Kind for supporting the Chris Kirkpatrick Whistleblower Accountability legislation.
His staff in Washington, D.C., allowed me to meet with them to advocate for this legislation.
Despite some special-interest opposition to the bill, he did the right thing and crossed the aisle to work with Republicans on a piece of legislation that addresses the root problems at the VA: lack of accountability.
He had the courage to speak from the House floor in support of the bill when many in his party opposed it because of union special interests. He led the way in getting other Democrats on board.
For these reasons, despite my criticisms of numerous Wisconsin congressional officials over the past three years in the wake of the Tomah VA scandal, I strongly endorse Congressman Kind for re-election in 2018.
