Justice Democrats Endorses Progressive Populist Randy Bryce in Wisconsin

Knoxville, TN – Justice Democrats closes out 2017 by welcoming Randy “Iron Stache” Bryce to their slate of populist progressive candidates running in 2018. Randy joins forty-eight challengers and two incumbents who are running on a platform that includes Medicare for All, free college tuition, a $15 / hr living wage, and criminal justice reform. Since his announcement earlier this year to challenge Paul Ryan in Wisconsin’s 1st congressional district, Randy’s campaign has drawn support from progressives and working people all across the country. In his powerful new campaign video, Randy shows us how Paul Ryan and his party have decided to enrich themselves and have entirely stopped caring about their constituents.

“Randy’s campaign, from day one, has been about placing people over profits, which is central to what it is to be a Justice Democrat,” said Corbin Trent, Communications Director. “Contrast that to Speaker Paul Ryan, who just rewarded his corporate donors with a tax scam that was forced through Congress despite being being opposed by a majority of Americans.”

“It’s time Democrats return to being the party of the people. For far too long the Democratic party has been beholden to the corporate class, losing election as a consequence,” said Randy Bryce. “I am joining Justice Democrats because like every Justice Democrat candidate, we are running a people powered campaign, and don’t accept donations from banks, the pharmaceutical industry, or fossil fuel corporations. We don’t accept corporate PAC donations because we are clear about who our campaign represents: the people. Paul Ryan is the polar opposite and we are excited to join forces with a movement of folks looking out for us, not the billionaire class.”

Justice Democrats began as an answer to Bernie’s call to continue the political revolution. The group has taken on the challenge of identifying progressive congressional candidates, like Randy, who have pledged to run campaigns that reject corporate money and champion a progressive populism that fights for all working people. With this announcement, the progressive organization, and their slate of forty-nine challengers and two incumbents, is leading the way when it comes to transforming the Democratic Party and defeating Donald Trump and the GOP’s retrograde agenda.
