GREEN BAY – Beau Liegeois, a prosecutor in the Brown County District Attorney’s Office and Captain in the Wisconsin Army National Guard, announced his campaign for congress today against Congressman Mike Gallagher. Beau was raised in the Green Bay area and like many people in Wisconsin’s 8th congressional district, he is fed up with congress’ inaction on issues that matter to struggling seniors and families.

Beau’s commitment to Northeast Wisconsin drove his decision to run for congress. “I am not a politician. I have never worked in Madison or Washington and understand the frustrations of people in Northeast Wisconsin. I refuse to sit idly by and watch families in this district continue to struggle. Like my own, I want families in the 8th congressional district to have access to the middle-class dream. They are the backbone of Wisconsin but right now they are not congress’ priority. My campaign will put their concerns front and center and when elected I will take their fight to DC,” said Liegeois.

“I have spent my entire life here in Brown County. Like many folks across this district, I worked to help pay for my education by stocking store shelves and hauling pallets in a warehouse. People across this district are still working hard to achieve the American dream but people in Washington don’t get it. My love of Wisconsin, our country and my faith have always driven my commitment to serve,” continued Liegeois. “We need people in congress that understand working-class districts and who put politics above everyday Americans.

Beau Liegeois is a lifelong native of the Green Bay area. He is a graduate of Green Bay Southwest High School, the University of Wisconsin-Madison and Valparaiso University Law School. He currently serves as an Assistant District Attorney in Brown County where he focuses on prosecuting drug crimes. He is also a Captain in the Wisconsin Army National Guard, where he serves as a Judge Advocate. Beau is the proud husband of Katie, from New Franken, and father of Evelyn Rey. They currently reside in Allouez.
