The City of Milwaukee will staff the 2017 Holiday Folk Fair International with an informative exhibit focused on the city’s Sister City relationships. The folk fair will run from Friday, November 17 through Sunday, November 19 inside the Wisconsin Exposition Center at State Fair Park.
Alderman Russell W. Stamper, II, chair of the Sister Cites Committee, said he believes this is the first time such a city presence will be included during the longstanding and popular event. “I am excited and looking forward to joining other members of the Sister Cities Committee as we provide a little education and outreach while showcasing the ties between Milwaukee and our international Sister Cities partners,” he said.
“When you are at the Folk Fair please stop by our exhibit and see what we have to offer,” Alderman Stamper said.

According to the event’s website: “Holiday Folk Fair International, America’s premier multicultural festival and a program of the International Institute of Wisconsin, celebrates the cultural heritage of the people living in southeastern Wisconsin. With this year’s theme, “Celebrate the Culture of Welcome,” attendees can explore the ways music, food, dance, and art weave together a message of welcome.”
