Statement of Alderman Russell W. Stamper, II
I offer my deepest condolences to the loved ones of Ala Mahmoud, who was shot and killed on Sunday morning (December 10) at the store at 38th and North where he worked. Mr. Mahmoud was a father of two children and also leaves behind a wife, and my prayers are with them now.
I am aware that Mr. Mahmoud was a good man who treated customers like family, and it is a tragedy for our community to lose him in this way. Police are looking at robbery as a possible motive for the murder.
The Milwaukee Police Department is looking for the person or persons responsible for Mr. Mahmoud’s death. I urge anyone with information to please call Milwaukee Police at 414-935-7360 immediately.
