Milwaukee, WI – Today, at about 4:20 a.m., deputies responded to a call about a wrong-way driver on I-41/US-45 driving southbound in the northbound lanes of traffic near Capitol Drive. The vehicle had only one headlight, and was driving in the median.  A deputy was able to stop the vehicle by positioning his squad in lane one.

Janise A. Lipsco, age 58, of Milwaukee, said she had just left her boyfriend’s house and did not know where she entered the freeway. No odor of alcohol was present, but multiple bottles of pills were in the vehicle. She was unable to perform the field sobriety tests, and was placed into custody for DUI-1st offense.

STOC video, not yet available for release, shows the subject entered the freeway at Appleton Avenue, traveling a distance of about three miles.  Lipsco faces a 2nd Degree Reckless Endangering Safety felony charge, with imprisonment of up to ten years. She was also cited for Driving Wrong Way on Divided Highway.
