Milwaukee, Wisconsin – Milwaukee County Executive Chris Abele will hold three listening sessions on the 2018 County Budget this August in order to solicit feedback and input from the community.

Each of the three sessions will be from 5:30pm to 7:30pm, taking place at McGovern Park Senior Center on Tuesday, August 15th, at Washington Park Senior Center on Monday, August 21st, and at Wilson Park Senior Center on Thursday, August 24th.

“Through my Engage MKE initiative, we started a conversation with the community earlier than ever, and in a more meaningful way. I’m so encouraged by the thoughtful feedback we’ve already received from Engage MKE contributors,” County Executive Abele said. “But online engagement doesn’t replace in-person opportunities for feedback. I look forward to hearing from the public in listening sessions around the County.”

Due to the overwhelmingly positive response, we will once again be partnering with the Zeidler Center for Public Discussion for these important events. These sessions will be interactive and are designed to provide meaningful and detailed feedback from all participants.

Members of the media and the public are invited to attend one or more of these sessions.

If you are unable to attend but would still like to offer feedback on the 2018 Proposed Budget, the County Executive’s Engage MKE initiative allows residents to design and submit their own balanced budget for Milwaukee County online: http://milwaukeecounty.abalancingact.com/

For more information, members of the public can contact the County Executive’s Office at countyexec@milwaukeecountywi.gov or (414) 278-4212.

Members of the media should contact Communications Director Melissa Moore Baldauff with any questions.

NOTE: ADA accommodations request should be filed with the Milwaukee County Office for Persons with Disabilities, 278-3932 (voice) or 711 (TRS), upon receipt of this notice.
