Nicholson for Senate Announces Strong Fundraising Start
– 2-Month Fundraising Haul + Significant Backers has Campaign Well-Positioned –
Political outsider and Marine Corps combat veteran Kevin Nicholson announced today that he collected over $400,000 in the third quarter. The campaign brought in over 1,850 donations, and the average donation was under $220. More than 1,500 donations were $100 or less.
The fundraising total was accomplished in a little more than two months since Kevin launched his campaign at the end of July, and it includes contributions from only one Political Action Committee (PAC) – John Bolton PAC, which endorsed Kevin.
As a first-time candidate, Kevin also successfully invested substantial time growing the campaign’s list of major, active supporters – both in Wisconsin and nationally – and the Nicholson for Senate Wisconsin finance committee co-chairs.
Taken together, the fundraising total and added financial network has the campaign strongly positioned for both the 2018 Senate Republican Primary and General Election.
“When I served in the United States Marine Corps, it was an honor and a privilege to serve alongside Marines from all walks of life, from all over our nation. Today, it is an honor and a privilege to have people from all walks of life, from all over Wisconsin and our nation, who are willing to support our campaign as we work to take back Washington from career politicians.”
“With the help of our supporters, we will continue to grow our movement so we can defeat career politician Tammy Baldwin next November,” Nicholson added. “We all know it will take a political outsider to shake up the Senate and actually get things done. That’s why I’m running.”
The campaign is also announcing today that it has added new Wisconsin finance co-chairs including:
• Tom & Ginee Burke
• Jack & Patti McKeithan
• Fred & Mary Mohs
• Mick Neshek
The campaign previously announced an initial list of Wisconsin finance co-chairs in August.
National supporters to Kevin’s campaign include:
Roddey Dowd; Foster Friess; Gay Gaines; Jerry Hayden; Tatnall Hillman; Rebekah Mercer; Howie Rich; Jackson Stephens Jr.; Tom Smith; Bill Strong; Sam Zell.
Kevin has also already earned endorsements from the Club for Growth PAC, Madison Project and Ambassador John Bolton.
