Nygren opioid addiction bills getting hearings this week

The Assembly expects to take up in early April Rep. John Nygren's latest round of bills to battle opioid addiction.
The bills, part of a special session call, will be taken up as part of a regularly scheduled floor period, said Kit Beyer, a spokeswoman for Speaker Robin Vos. The Legislature has the week of April 3 blocked off for possible floor days.
The Senate will go second on the bills and likely take them up in May, according to Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald's office. The Legislature has the first two weeks of that month blocked off for possible floor periods.
