MADISON, Wis. — The following are the statements of One Wisconsin Now Executive Director Scot Ross following U.S. Senator Ron Johnson and his majority Republican colleagues’ vote to “proceed” with repeal of the Affordable Care Act:
“Ron Johnson and his Senate Republican cohorts voted to follow Donald Trump and Paul Ryan and proceed with the dismantling of the healthcare safety net for the most vulnerable Americans to pay for tax cuts for the richest.
“Their vote will mean critical health care coverage will be stripped away from tens of millions of Americans and many more will pay more for coverage and receive less care.
“Ron Johnson and the Republicans’ actions cannot be excused, and will be neither forgiven nor forgotten.”
