MADISON, Wis. — One Wisconsin Now Executive Director Scot Ross released the following statements about the announced Joint Finance Committee hearing on Tuesday on the $3 billion taxpayer subsidy Gov. Scott Walker wants to give Taiwan’s Foxconn.
“If Taiwanese billionaire Terry Gou wants Wisconsin taxpayers to give him $3 billion, billionaire Terry Gou ought to come to Wisconsin and answer questions from legislators about the $3 billion he wants.”
Independent fact checkers have confirmed that this $3 billion represents the largest subsidy by a state to a foreign company in American history.
