Voters in House Speaker Paul Ryan’s congressional district oppose the GOP health care bill, according to a new poll from the Dem firm Public Policy Polling that was paid for by a PAC opposing the speaker.

The survey, paid for by Stop the Speaker PAC, found 37 percent support the bill, while 46 percent were opposed and 16 percent were not sure.

Other results include:

*President Trump’s favorable rating was 50-47, while Ryan’s was 49-44.

*50 percent support an independent investigation into Russia’s involvement in the 2016 presidential election, while 40 percent are opposed.

*37 percent said they supported “taking away funding for essential healthcare services like birth control and cancer screenings at Planned Parenthood health centers in Racine, Kenosha and Delevan,” communities in Ryan’s southeastern Wisconsin district. Fifty-five percent were opposed.

The survey of 519 1st CD voters was conducted Thursday and Friday. The margin of error was plus or minus 4.3 percentage points.

On its website, Stop the Speaker PAC says it is based in Ryan’s district and all it wants “to do is make Paul Ryan’s life hell.”
