Milwaukee, WI – Two leaders from IBEW Local 494 announced their endorsement of Jason Rae, a member of the Democratic National Committee from Wisconsin, to serve as the national party’s next Secretary.
Those leaders announcing their support are Dean Warsh, Business Manager, and John Zapfel Political Director.
“Jason has been a strong supporter and advocate of organized labor during his time on the DNC,” said John Zapfel, IBEW Local 494 Political Director. “Jason not only knows how to win elections, but he knows the mechanics of how our party operates – something crucial for the next DNC Secretary. He’ll make a fantastic DNC Secretary and we hope DNC members will support his campaign.”
“I’m honored to have support of leaders like Dean and John, as well as so many others representing organized labor,” said Jason Rae. “Support is growing every day for my campaign as people hear my vision and plans for the office of Secretary to do more to engage members and to create greater transparency of the DNC.”
IBEW Local 494 is a labor union representing over 2400 members in the electrical industry. It represents workers in construction, Manufacturing, municipal, and maintenance. Local 494 serves the following counties Milwaukee, Waukesha, Washington, Ozaukee, Fond du Lac, and Sheboygan.
The election for DNC Secretary will take place during the winter DNC meeting on February 25, 2017 in Atlanta, Georgia.
