Representative Scott Allen (R-Waukesha) voted today to pass AB49/SB10, the CBD Oil bill. This bill allows people to possess Cannabidiol (CBD Oil) without fear of prosecution by amending Lydia’s Law (2013 Act 267), which allowed access to CBD Oil under limited circumstances in Wisconsin.
“CBD Oil has been effective in treating children with epilepsy and has shown to significantly reduce seizures,” said Rep. Allen. “It is our responsibility as legislators, and as parents to provide the best, proven care for our children who are in need of assistance.”
AB49/SB10 allows for possession of CBD Oil if a doctor has certified the oil is being used to treat a medical condition. The bill allows Wisconsin to comply if CBD Oil is rescheduled at the federal level.
“I met with Stacy Peterson, President of CONNOILS LLC in Waukesha about the CBD Oil bill,” said Rep. Allen. “As I understand, CONNOILS LLC, a global manufacturer and distributor of natural organic oils would be able to provide CBD Oil to Wisconsin residents with the passage of this bill.”
AB49/SB10 had previously passed the Senate, and will now head to the governor’s office for his signature.
