Madison, Wisconsin — Today Sen. Al Franken admitted to sexual assault after allegations were made public by Leeann Tweeden. In response Rep. Jimmy Anderson made the following statement:
“There’s absolutely no place in our society for sexual assault. We must hold our leaders to a higher standard. That’s why I am calling on Senator Al Franken to resign, Judge Roy Moore to drop out of the Alabama Senate race, and President Donald Trump to step down. We can’t make excuses for our leaders and we can’t let party get in the way. Moral leadership requires people to do the right thing even when it’s hard. It’s unfortunate that so many of our elected leaders have failed that test.”
