Madison… Representative Joan Ballweg (R-Markesan) was proud to join her colleagues in the Assembly today to pass Assembly Bill 69, known as the Right to Try legislation.
“Right to Try is law in 33 other states and grants families facing the hardest time of their lives the ability to fight,” said Ballweg. “I was happy to support this legislation and thank Rep. Patrick Snyder from Schofield for his leadership on this matter.”
AB 69 permits individuals with a terminal illness the ability to access investigational drugs, devices, and other products after exhausting all other available treatment options. A recommendation from the patient’s doctor is required and the patient must be ineligible or unable to participate in a clinical trial.
Having now passed the Assembly, AB 69 is before the state Senate for consideration.
