Risky FoxConn deal puts taxpayers on the hook for $3 billion dollars
Democrats want to invest in Wisconsin
MADISON – Assembly Democratic Leader Representative Gordon Hintz (D-Oshkosh) released the following statement regarding Governor Walker’s signing of the FoxConn contract today:
“Governor Walker just signed the largest tax giveaway by a state to a foreign corporation in our country’s history. This deal is simply the Governor’s latest Hail Mary as he enters another campaign cycle. Nothing in this contract gives Wisconsin families the protection they deserve against their hard earned money being squandered away on a risky election year scheme.
Democrats in Wisconsin want to bring jobs and economic opportunity back to our state. However, we do not believe giving corporations billions of dollars will address these issues. In order to create long-term economic growth, we need to invest in Wisconsin. Our focus will remain on fully funding public education, fixing our crumbling roads, and providing health care to more of our friends and neighbors across the state.”
