Madison—Representative Terry Katsma (R–Oostburg) issued the following statement regarding Governor Scott Walker’s appointment of Jay Risch to serve as Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions:

“Jay has a diverse background both inside and outside of state government that I know will serve the people of Wisconsin well.  I applaud the Governor’s action to appoint Jay to this important new role, and I am eager to work with him to make sure that Wisconsin’s financial industries remain healthy and are overseen effectively.

“I also appreciate current Secretary Lon Roberts’ dedicated leadership of the Department.  Frankly, he’s done a great job in his current role, and I am confident that he will do more outstanding work in his new role at the Public Service Commission.  I wish Lon all the best in his new position, and I thank him for his service to our state.”
