MADISON – State Representative Scott Krug (R-Rome) released the following statement in
response to Governor Walker’s announcement that the Village of Hancock will receive a
Community Development Block Grant to improve its streets and infrastructure:

“I couldn’t be happier for the Village of Hancock. The funds from the Community
Development Block Grant are essential to this growing area. These funds will ensure the
streets, infrastructure and buildings in the Village of Hancock are ready to meet its growing
needs.

“I appreciate the work Village of Hancock has done to prepare and apply for this award. With the assistance of the State, these capital improvements will serve to benefit our community.”

Targeting community projects that benefit low-to-moderate income resident, the Community Development Block Grant makes a big impact. A competitive process is used in deciding fund recipients, with the funding being awarded through the Department of Administration’s Division of Energy, Housing and Community Resources.
