Madison…Revenues from the Oneida Tribe will continue to go to athletic functions by the University of Wisconsin – Green Bay (UWGB) after a provision authored by Representative John Macco (R-Ledgeview) was adopted as part of the 2017-19 budget:

“We ought to promote local governments which works well together,” said Rep. Macco. “The relationship between the Oneida Tribe and UWGB is a relationship that has worked well together for a long time, and with the action taken by the Joint Finance Committee that relationship will continue to stay strong.”

Tribal revenues sent back to the state are given to UWGB which uses them to support athletic functions. The allocation has been in place since the early 2000s.

“I want to thank Representative Dale Kooyenga (R-Brookfield) and Representative John Nygren (R-Marinette) for their support of this motion, and I look forward to continue to work with the Oneida Tribe and UWGB to promote leadership in our community.”
