MADISON, Wis, – Representative Dave Murphy (R-Greenville), Chair of the Assembly Committee on Colleges and Universities, released the following statement in response to the University of Wisconsin–Madison recently opening a Black Cultural Center on campus:
“I congratulate the University of Wisconsin–Madison on the opening of a Black Cultural Center. The flagship institution provides so many unique opportunities for students and it is wonderful to see the addition of a place where students can gather and share an important part of our state’s heritage. I applaud the university for this positive move to foster student unity. I’m looking forward to visiting the new center in the future.”
