Madison— Today State Representative Adam Neylon (R-Pewaukee) issued the following statement in response to the passage of Assembly Bill 42 in the Assembly Committee on State Affairs:
“Assembly Bill 42, also known as the REINS Act, is legislation that will ensure unelected bureaucrats can no longer impose expensive rules on Wisconsin taxpayers without the necessary oversight from Wisconsin’s elected legislators – this is common-sense accountable government.
“I also want to say how much I appreciate the leadership Chairman Rob Swearingen has shown by scheduling and passing AB 42 today in his committee. He has been a staunch supporter of the REINS Act from the beginning, and with his support, the Assembly can now move the REINS Act to the Assembly floor to be considered by the entire body. Now that SB 15, the Senate companion bill, has passed in the Senate, I will continue working diligently to get this bill passed in the Assembly, then onto Governor Walker’s desk so it can start benefitting Wisconsin taxpayers as soon as possible.”
