Madison, Wisconsin – State Representative Jessie Rodriguez (R-Oak Creek) joined her legislative colleagues by supporting the announcement of a $10 billion investment by Foxconn Technology Group. The company struck a deal to build a plant located in southeastern Wisconsin projected to create up to 13,000 new jobs.

“For the last several years we have made great strides eliminating overly burdensome regulations that stifle job growth. Our reforms are working and more companies are realizing the tremendous benefit of investing in Wisconsin and our workforce. The new Foxconn location will be a great asset to our region,” said Rodriguez.

The new state-of-the-art facility in Wisconsin will build liquid crystal displays (LCD), the first of its kind in North America. The jobs are expected to pay an average wage of $53,875 in addition to benefits. The Foxconn plant is expected to have a ripple effect throughout the region with thousands of additional jobs created by suppliers and ancillary companies.

“This is an exciting opportunity for Wisconsin to be involved in transforming the manufacturing industry. We have a strong manufacturing heritage, a dedicated workforce and unmatched work ethic. I’m excited for the opportunity for Wisconsin to once again demonstrate why we’re a great state for businesses,” said Rodriguez.

Foxconn, headquartered in Taiwan, is a global leader in manufacturing high-tech electronics. Founded by chairman and CEO Terry Gou in 1974, the company is most well-known for assembling iPhones.
