Wisconsin’s Large Music Festivals to Continue as Planned

Madison…Today, Assembly Bill 194, authored by Rep. Rob Summerfield (R-Bloomer) and Sen. Terry Moulton (R-Chippewa Falls), was signed into law (2017 Wisconsin Act 7) by Governor Walker.

“I’m extremely happy that we were able to pass this common-sense legislation,” stated Summerfield. “These large music festivals are incredibly important not just to the Chippewa Valley, but the entire state, and it’s great to see such widespread support for keeping them intact.”

Assembly Bill 194 added large music festival venues to the list of exceptions for venues in which a person under 21 years of age may attend without the presence of their parent, legal guardian, or spouse; clarifying an oversight in prior Wisconsin law which would have barred their attendance beginning this year and forced many festivals in the state to close.

Music festival season in Wisconsin is set to begin this month.
