Madison, Wisconsin – State Representative Leon Young (D-Milwaukee) supports the Parental Choice Technical Fix Bill (AB 383/SB 293). “This bill requires private choice schools to conduct criminal background investigations on all its employees, and doesn’t allow a school to hire any person who would not be permitted to hold a teaching license. It provides some degree of financial accountability to Wisconsin taxpayers.”
Representative Young closed by saying, “In order for a school to be enrolled in the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program., they must secure a surety bond. Which means they are on sound financial footing. If a school uses a surety bond was to close, the surety bond would guarantee the state would receive a refund.”
