Beloit – Today the Democratic members of the State Assembly Committee on Agriculture toured three farms in the Beloit area. These tours are part of several the Democrats on the committee will be taking.
“I’m proud to continue our farm tours in Representative Spreitzer’s district,” said Rep. Dave Considine (D-Baraboo), who serves as the committee’s ranking Democrat. “We had a great day in Janesville last month, and it was exciting to see what Beloit has to offer. These tours help us learn from each other and exchange creative ideas, which is crucial in both the agriculture and legislative areas.”
The Democrats on the Agriculture Committee also include Reps. Fred Kessler (D-Milwaukee), Mark Spreitzer (D-Beloit), Jason Fields (D-Milwaukee), and Don Vruwink (D-Milton). Monday’s tours took place at Luety Aquafarms, Decatur Dairy, Green Fire Farm, and Larson Acres. All four are located in Rep. Spreitzer’s Assembly district.
“Agriculture is central to Wisconsin’s heritage and to our economy, largely due to the efforts of our farmers, agriculture producers, and processors,” stated Rep. Mark Spreitzer (D-Beloit). “I am proud to introduce my fellow legislators to our local economy, and show off the exciting future that lies ahead for agriculture in the 45th Assembly District.”
