About the Event: “Trump claims to love everyday people, blue collar workers in particular,” said Chuck Ogg of the Rock County Progressives. “Yet his cabinet appointments, policies and legislative initiatives reflect the interests of the one percent, the Koch Brothers in particular.  Therefore we are excited to have Lisa Graves speak at our upcoming educational forum on ‘The Trump – Koch Connection.’ Lisa is the Executive Director of The Center for Media and Democracy (CMD), a national watchdog group investigating and exposing the undue influence of corporations on public policy. After a whistleblower gave Lisa model bills secretly voted on by lobbyists and state lawmakers, the CMD launched ‘ALECexposed,’ an award-winning investigation of the Koch-funded-and-organized American Exchange Legislative Council (ALEC). Lisa has appeared on most major TV networks including ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, CNBC, BBC, and CNN. Her analysis has been cited in major newspapers including the Guardian, The New York Times, and The Washington Post.  Lisa was Deputy Assistant Attorney General at the U.S. Department of Justice in the Office of Legal Policy/Policy Development and served as Chief Counsel for Nominations for the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee for Senator Patrick Leahy. This event will be held on Wednesday, June 14 at the Basics Cooperative Natural Foods Store in Janesville. This is an independent event not affiliated with Basics. The speaker will begin at 6:30 PM, doors will open at 6 PM. This event is free and open to the public.”
