Senate President Roger Roth praised Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald for his early support of President Trump.

The Appleton Republican said Fitzgerald was willing to stand up when no one else was and “helped articulate and organize the movement that helped Trump win Wisconsin.”

He also praised Fitzgerald, who missed the convention to attend his son’s graduation from UW-Oshkosh, for helping build the Senate majority to 20 members.

He said when people write the history of Wisconsin’s move from a blue state to a red one, they will likely neglect to include what he said is the real reason it did s.o

“We won in 2016 and since 2010 quite simply because you all outworked our opposition,” Roth said.
