(Reedsburg, Wis.) – Today, the campaign of Sauk County Circuit Court Judge Michael Screnock in the race to replace retiring Justice Michael Gableman on the Wisconsin Supreme Court announced the endorsement of conservative judicial leaders in Wisconsin.

Standing with law enforcement throughout the state, several conservative judicial leaders have made their endorsement clear for Judge Screnock. Former and current State Supreme Court Justices the Hon. Jon P. Wilcox, Hon. David Prosser, Jr., Hon. Michael Gableman, Hon. Rebecca Bradley, and Hon. Daniel Kelly, along with Wisconsin Court of Appeals Judge Mark Gundrum and Judge Brian Hagedorn added their names to the formidable list of those endorsing the rule-of-law candidacy of Judge Michael Screnock.

“I cannot thank my fellow jurists enough for their thoughtful endorsement of my candidacy for the state supreme court,” said Sauk County Circuit Court Judge Michael Screnock. “I am the only candidate in this race who has made it abundantly clear that I am steadfastly committed to the rule of law.  I stand by my ideology of how a court should interpret – and not rewrite – the law and I will continue to honor Wisconsin’s Constitution as written.”

Justice Michael Gableman added:

“Judge Mike Screnock is an outstanding circuit court judge. I agree, along with the majority of Wisconsin sheriffs who have already publicly endorsed him, that he would be a great Supreme Court Justice. That is why I urge my fellow citizens to become familiar with all those who seek the office, and I know, like me, they will conclude that Judge Mike Screnock is the voice of fairness, law, and common sense and would be the best next Justice of the Supreme Court of Wisconsin.”

Judge Michael Screnock was appointed to the Sauk County Circuit court in 2015 and ran unopposed for election in 2016. He has enjoyed the privilege of serving his hometown in this capacity, and is particularly proud of the work Sauk County’s Drug Court has accomplished since its inception last year.

Judge Screnock provides a unique perspective that will be a tremendous asset to the state’s highest court. He earned his undergraduate degree in mathematics from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and received an MBA from Eastern College in Pennsylvania. He worked as a city administrator and as a finance director in the cities of Reedsburg, Washburn, and Ashland, Wisconsin before deciding to go back to the University of Wisconsin-Madison to pursue his Juris Doctor. He worked at Michael Best & Friedrich prior to becoming a judge.

Judge Michael Screnock lives in Reedsburg with his wife. They have three adult children.
