Madison, Wisconsin — Today, Governor Scott Walker signed two bills authored by State Senator David Craig (R-Town of Vernon) into law:

Senate Bill 186 codifies an important ‘high-wide’ commercial trucking route through the City of Milwaukee to the Port of Milwaukee.

“The Port of Milwaukee is an integral part of our state’s economy,” Craig said“With the rapid acceleration of economic development in Southeast Wisconsin, codifying this route in statute guarantees essential access to the Port of Milwaukee for our state’s businesses both large and small.”

Senate Bill 453 ensures appraisal management companies (AMCs) can effectively operate in our state preserving homeowners’ access to lending options.

“This bill is about maintaining the robust lending market for homeowners here in Wisconsin while also bolstering consumer protections and confidence,” Craig said.

“These bills strengthen housing and commerce in our state and region and I thank my legislative colleagues and the Governor for enacting these significant measures,”Craig added.

Senator Craig represents the 28th Senate District which includes parts of Waukesha, Milwaukee, Racine, and Walworth counties.
