Madison, Wis. – Today, Senator David Craig (R-Town of Vernon) responded to Governor Scott Walker’s Biennial Budget Address with the following statement:
“I am encouraged by nearly $600 million in tax and fee reductions along with substantive welfare reforms, the repeal of prevailing wage requirements for state projects, and regulatory relief like the REINS Act.
“However, I am deeply concerned by the dramatic spending increases within the Governor’s budget which further expand government and increase the fiscal commitment of taxpayers going forward.
“As this budget process continues, I will continue my focus on creating a favorable climate for job creators, limiting the size of government, and crafting structural reforms of government to ensure that my constituents, and taxpayers around the state, can be confident they are getting the most efficient, prudent, and responsible government possible.”
