Madison, Wisconsin – On Wednesday, the Co-Chairs of the state’s budget-writing Joint Committee on Finance, State Senator Alberta Darling (R-River Hills) and State Representative John Nygren (R-Marinette), issued the following statement regarding the non-partisan Legislative Fiscal Bureau’s most recent general fund tax revenue estimates:

“The newly released revenue estimates show Wisconsin is on the right track. Our budgetary forecast remains in line with previous estimates. It’s clear that our conservative fiscal reforms have helped build a solid economic foundation for our state.

“As Co-Chairs of the budget-writing Joint Finance Committee (JFC), this foundation provides a great starting point as we work with our colleagues and Wisconsin residents to make improvements to the governor’s budget recommendations.

“Moving forward with the budget process, we will continue to prioritize education, work to determine a sustainable funding structure for our roads, and protect our state’s most vulnerable populations.”
