WASHINGTON – U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson (R-Wis.) said this after the Trump administration announced its intention to nominate Matthew D. Kruger to serve as the United States attorney for the Eastern District of Wisconsin:
“Mr. Krueger is an excellent choice to serve as the U.S. attorney for Wisconsin’s Eastern District. He has extensive legal experience and will do an admirable job of ensuring justice is done in Wisconsin.”
Mr. Krueger was one of three individuals recommended for the post earlier this year by a bipartisan nominating commission established by Senators Johnson and Baldwin. He has worked in the U.S. attorney’s office since 2013, currently serving the Eastern District of Wisconsin. Mr. Krueger previously worked as an associate at Sidley Austin LLP in Washington. He also served as a Bristow Fellow in the U.S. Department of Justice, Office of the Solicitor General. Mr. Krueger received his B.S., with honors, from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and his J.D., summa cum laude, from the University of Minnesota Law School, where he served as editor-in-chief of the Minnesota Law Review.
