MADISON – The following is a statement from state Senator Chris Larson on the loss of Fighting Bob Fest founder and fearless advocate for Wisconsin workers, Ed Garvey.
“Today, Wisconsin lost a leading fighter for our middle class. Throughout his career, Ed Garvey worked tirelessly to advance our shared values of prosperity, opportunity, and justice for all. As Executive Director of the NFL’s Players Union, he wasn’t afraid to stand up for even the biggest ‘little guy.’
“Garvey’s dedication and commitment to ensure workers in Wisconsin had a strong voice and were treated fairly will be deeply missed, as will our candid conversations on Wisconsin’s storied and continuing progressive history. My sincerest condolences go out to his family and friends.”
