Vukmir thanks military members and veterans this Veterans Day

MADISON, Wis. — State Sen. Leah Vukmir, R–Brookfield, issued the following statement Friday in honor of Veterans Day:

“My son Nicholas serves in the U.S. Army. I keep him and all of those who wear the uniform in my prayers, thankful for their determination and desire to serve for our wonderful country. We are blessed as a nation to have such strong men and women volunteer to protect us.

“This week, a bill I authored to ensure that our National Guard veterans will receive their full tuition reimbursement passed the Legislature. It now heads to the governor’s desk. I’m proud to have authored this legislation so our veterans will not have to worry about finances when pursuing their hard-earned education. As Wisconsinites and as Americans, it’s the least we can do to say thank you.

“Today we honor those who have sacrificed for our country through their service to our military. These brave men and women deserve every bit of recognition for upholding our Constitution and defending our freedoms.”
