Madison…Speaker Robin Vos (R-Rochester) released the following statement after the National Conference of State Legislatures’ (NCSL) presented the 2016 Kevin B. Harrington Award for Excellence in Democracy Education to the Wisconsin State Legislature at a ceremony today at the state Capitol. According to NCSL, the Harrington Award is given annually to an individual or organization for advancing public understanding of state and local representative democracy.
“It is an honor to receive this important award as it represents our cooperative efforts to serve the state and our constituents. I would like to thank every legislator, the chief clerks’ offices, support agencies and staff who work diligently every day to effectively communicate essential information to the citizens of Wisconsin. Also, I want to show our appreciation to the NCSL staff for their work on behalf of states and for taking the time to recognize the Wisconsin State Legislature today at the Capitol.”
