Milwaukee, Wisconsin – The Wisconsin Forum invites the public to hear John Tillman on Thursday, November 9, 2017. The title of Tillman’s presentation: “What Is America’s 21st Century Destiny? The People vs. The Government.”

John Tillman is one of the nation’s most prominent leaders of a state-based think tank. As CEO of the Illinois Policy Institute, Tillman transformed what many wrote off as a blue state into a place ripe for free-market reform.

In addition to the Illinois Policy Institute, Tillman founded or co-founded a variety of key organizations in Illinois to create the competitive capacity needed to turn Illinois around, including the Liberty Justice Center, a 501(c)(3) public-interest law firm, the Illinois Opportunity Project 501(c)(4), the Illinois Liberty Political Action Committee, and more. His success has become a model for liberty-based organizations across the country.

Tillman won the State Policy Network’s prestigious Roe Award in 2011 for his leadership, innovation and accomplishments in the world of public policy. This annual award pays tribute to those in the state public policy movement whose achievements have greatly advanced the free-market philosophy.

Tillman is regularly featured in the media, and has appeared on FOX News Channel, FOX Business, the BBC and NPR, as well as in The Wall Street Journal, the Washington Times and other news outlets.

The Wisconsin Forum was founded in 1965 by some of Milwaukee’s industrial leaders, who included Chet W Anderson – Employers Association (now MRA); Robert W. Baird – Marine Bank; William H. Brady – W.H. Brady Co. (now Brady Corporation); Harold Falk – Falk Corporation; Burleigh Jacobs – Grede Foundries; William Law – Cudahy Tanning and Law Tanning Company; and, James Wright – Badger Meter.

The original purpose for creating the Forum was to educate their employees about the true definition of liberty and free market concepts. Today, through the schedule of dinner meetings, the Wisconsin Forum continues to fulfill this commitment. Dinner meetings give members and guests an opportunity to enter into meaningful discussions with the presenters and network with other guests from the community.
