Thompson backs Walker’s welfare plan, calls for bipartisan support

Former Gov. Tommy Thompson is recounting his welfare reform battles from two decades ago in voicing support for Gov. Scott Walker's "Wisconsin Works for Everyone" welfare plan.
The name is a take off of the Wisconsin Works program that Thompson unveiled in the '90s. Thompson joined Walker for the guv's fourth and final stop of his tour announcing the initiative in Madison, where he endorsed Walker's plan as a means to "build on something [Thompson] started."
