BROOKFIELD, WI – Today, Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner held his 100th town hall meeting of 2017 in Johnson Creek. It was the first of four meetings today and part of his 32 meeting tour through the Fifth Congressional District during the month of October.
The Congressman is on pace to hold a total of 113 in-person town hall meetings by the end of this year.
Sensenbrenner holds an average of 100 meetings annually throughout this district, visiting 49 unique communities – big and small – to listen to the concerns of his constituents and answer their questions. He holds more in-person town hall meetings each year than any other Member of Congress.
Congressman Sensenbrenner: “Constituents who attend my town hall meetings hold beliefs that span the ideological spectrum, and I have made it a point to always be easily accessible to them all. Although at times we disagree on issues, I have always shown respect for their opinions and concerns.
“I believe that good policy requires input from both sides of the aisle, and continuing open discussions on the problems we face will enable us as a nation to find real solutions. The process is never easy – sometimes it’s contentious – but if we listen and respect one another, I’m confident that at the end of the day, we will find ourselves in a better place than where we began.”
